Ow, redux. @ 07:15 pm

Current Mood: bored and in pain
Current Music: Lush, Nothing Natural

I went to the drugstore to buy an ankle brace and a compression bandage (and Tiger Balm Ultra). While I was in line, over a period of about 90 seconds, I got a little nauseous, then really nauseous, and watched as everything turned black from the bottom up. When I came to, I thought (roughly) "Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing? Oh yes, I'm Tom, and I was in the Walgreens buying an ankle bandage. That's my role, that's what I was doing." I think I actually passed out twice - I started to come to, passed out again, and then finally became fully conscious and sat up.

After I'd purchased my bill of goods and given the store my contact info in case I tried to sue them, I put on the ankle brace and some Tiger Balm, and ate lunch at Chi-Dog three or four blocks away. I feel lucky in retrospect that I decided to go to Walgreens and Chi-Dog rather than straight up to Oakland like I had planned; passing out on I-880 would have been amazingly bad.

So instead of cleaning up the apartment, instead of going to Oakland, instead of going to any of the four raves or so this evening, I took a very hot bath, chatted with some people online, and am now finishing reading Iain Banks's "Use of Weapons".

On the whole, I'd have much rather gone out and had fun than lain at home. Oh well, there's always next time (bah!) I just hope that I can get a doctor's appointment real soon.

Iain Banks is yummy stuff.

Passing out is not.

Get thee to some medical care. (The weekend is an unfortunate thing, in this case.)

What they said, about medical care.
Also, thank you for the post card. I loved "reading it." When you're feeling better, I'd like to hang out sometime.
