Woke up at 7:30 AM after going to sleep around 3, said "screw that!" and went back to sleep until noon. It seems that my brain wants to wake up before my body is rested, which is new and strange for me - it makes me wonder if dopamine is related to circadian rhythms or the like.
After waking up fully, went off to lunch with ex-cow orkers (
araignee,
aalauber, steve) where we chatted away for a good while. Got home, read mail, sent more off, job-hunted, packed for my trip to Chicago, and napped for a little while. Being able to nap is also a new and bizarre thing for me - I can actually fall asleep within half an hour now!
After waking up and being really cold, I called guy about job lead and got his voicemail. Went over to Dana Street where I ran into
jrpseudonym and talked for a good long while. He's one of those people whom I'm happy to talk to in person but never ever talk to online. Not sure why that is. Guy from job called back, and wants me to come by and visit the campus relatively soon, woo! After that, went home, read more mail, blathered about sysadmin online for a bit, and am now getting ready to head off to the Two Towers showing at the Metreon.
While I'm beginning to enjoy the time off more, and am beginning to establish enough internal structure to cope with the freedom of scheduling, I think I'm about ready start working again. Money is beginning to become more of a concern, and I still spend entirely too much time screwing around online - I may as well get paid for it and do something more useful while I'm at it.
