Hong Kong, here I come.

Well, I just booked tickets for Hong Kong; my brother lives there, and I'll be visiting him for two fun-filled weeks. What am I going to be doing there? No idea whatsoever, but I haven't played tourist for quite some time, and I miss wandering about in big urban areas. Also, my friend Winnie was born in Hong Kong, and she says she's gonna come up with a list of all sorts of things to see and places to shop.

A brief aside about my li'l brother: he's 6'6", about 300 lbs or so, went to Princeton and Harvard Law, and is working as a corporate lawyer in the HK branch office of Cravath, Swaine, & Moore. He apparently had an orbital fracture sometime last week in a rugby accident. He's a wee bit more focused than I am, for a very very large value of 'wee'. He's also more sardonic than me - for example...

Mina is adopting a cockerspaniel puppy for a month from the animal shelter. It has, believe it or not, mange (they don't want the other dogs to get infected while it's being treated). As if cockerspaniels couldn't be more pathetic. I was against it, but it was either that or a Rottweiler with heartworm, said Mina, so we went with the dog that seemed less likely to kill us.

Whereas my brother is undoubtedly doing something important, I'm gonna go read the first book of Lord of the Rings, cuz I'm a fanboy like that.
