Surreal Japanese TV: there's a show called BariBari Value that's about 10% gameshow, requiring the contestants to guess the value of various (expensive) items shown in the rest of the show. They had a $210 watermelon; no big deal. What was particularly odd was when they went to the house of a married doctor couple - when they poked through the wife's closet with the $100k worth of designer handbags and shoes, they had her try on the leather thigh-high boots (!); later, they were showing them injecting their custom vitamin dose into her husband and into the host.

It's been a while since I've seen celebrity vitamin injections on TV in the US.
