The only Cafe du Monde I've seen there is in the train station at Kyoto. The original one is in New Orleans. :)

For shopping, Kiddie Land in Harajuku and Tokyo Hands in Shinjuku (I think) are fun. I'm sure there are more Kiddie Lands around though.

There is also a chain called Aladdin (Arabian themed) all over the place. We ate at the one in Osaka though... so that was an unexpected exercise in no-English kanji comprehension, heh. :)

And pretty much any izakaya around Shinjuku. We wandered into a lot of those, randomly. Always tasty.

There used to be at least one other Cafe du Monde, in Ikebukuro, and I hazily recall them being all over the place. The last time I was over there was probably two years ago, however, so it's very possible things have changed.

I second the recommendation for izakaya!
