Also, with less weight in the face you'll tend to look older, anyhow, as thinner skin without fat underneath it will show more lines.

My reasons for your looking older:

1) You're wearing glasses (old guys can't see for shit)

2) You look a little too thin (old guys are either fat or gaunt)

3) You're paler/pinker (old guys avoid the sun)

4) No stubble (old guys have white/invisible stubble)

5) A couple of small wrinkles on your forehead (old guys have 'em)

6) You're not smiling (old guys are cynical bastards)

7) You're 7.5 years older (old guys have slightly, but still perceptibly, different bone structure)

8) Your neck is narrower--either you were more in shape, or it's just because you were heavier (old guys either have turkey necks or chicken necks)

(You really do look a little too thin. Unless it's a health issue, maybe you should put 5 pounds back on. Your cheeks look kinda hollow. You don't want to be too thin, in case you happen to get really sick. Fat stores are important.)

By the way, I don't know if it affected anything, but your head is tilted slightly down in the old photo, and up in the new.

Are you kidding? I'm still at about 200lbs - or around 20lbs overweight. I suspect part of it might be the camera; the image looks a little fish-eyed. Compare this pic from March and the full shot of the 2008 pic.

Yeah, that could be. I'm only saying what I see, not necessarily what is. :)

The March photo does look younger than this one, that's true. I think the smile really does make a difference. You look like you've got a little evil smirk going in the old picture, and the new is just sort of tired. Maybe it's something less tangible like that.

Here's what you should do if you really want to know: Try to mimic the lighting conditions, FOV, pose, stubble, and expression from the old picture. Then it'll be more apples-to-apples.

It's the first image warped into the shape of the second image. Note what happens to the eyes. That's because your glasses refracted the image of your eyes and made them look closer together. Further, the somewhat-upwards angle made them look like they tilt down at the corners, like you're sad. That definitely makes you look drawn and older.
