Current Mood: pissed off pissed off

As of yesterday, I've lived in California for eight years.

As of 1.5 hours ago, a jerk in a Lexus plowed into my driver's side rear door and acted all outraged.

edit: I'm fine, save for a little bump on the side of my head. Car door is dented in, oh noes. Asshat's bumper got some paint on it, but I bet he's going to file a claim anyway.

more editing: I was U-turning in the middle of the street with my lights on, turn signal active, etc. He didn't brake, and splut. Cops were called, I have a police report (09-2903), and I wasn't written any tickets or anything. Unless Portola Valley Dork files a claim (and thus, I'll be obligated to counterclaim), I'll just pull the dent out myself.

I'm pretty sure "crumpled driver's side door" is the traditional 8th anniversary present.

Welcome to California!

Woah! I take it you're ok besides pissed off... was it in the parking lot at work? People fly around some of those turns.

Nope, this was in Menlo Park. I haven't had problems with the people in the parking lots being dipshits, oddly enough.

Yeah. Little bump on the side of my head. Car door has a big dent in it, whoop-de-doo; unless they file a claim (thus making me have to file my own claim), I'd just pull the damn thing out myself.

Take a deep breath and visualize how much their insurance rates will rise due to an at-fault accident in an expensive car.

I'm glad you're okay. But be careful - if the accident caused $750 or more in damage to either car and it goes through insurance, you must file a statement with the DMV or risk losing your license.

YIKES! I'm glad you're ok!

Today I've seen too many adults acting like petulant children.

Really, though I'm glad you are ok.

I'm really glad you're okay, but I think the person in the Lexus needs a serious asskicking. Fortunately, he'll get that with his new insurance rates on his bourge-mobile.

Poor sreetpea.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Let me guess, was the Lexus driver on the phone?

Ugh. Car crashes are frustrating and annoying. I'm glad to hear that no one was hurt...
