Hey, it looks professional to me! Of course, I would've broken a LOT more drillbits and it wouldn't have looked a fraction so pretty. ;) (And there's always the whole, I have no idea what I'm talking about, too.)

It was a lot more obvious before the stuff was soldered in; you know how the pins on ICs are in a straight line? The holes... are not.

What are you making? I like the stair steppy traces. They make it look like tenochtitnology.

Heh. Well, I never got as far as you did. Took the Intro to Hardware course together with a few others, realized how annoying troubleshooting, decompiling, etc was, how many math classes I'd have to take, and promptly changed my Major.

I did enjoy the logic behind circuitry analysis and binary though...

Heh. While I took intro to digital design, I dropped it about halfway through. Too annoying, and nothing I hadn't already learned about in high school on my own. I don't think I've taken any college courses that were applicable to either my job or my (tech) hobbies.

Hello! I have seen you on the OKCupid, where I am velluxuous, and I am also here, as myself. I think you should stalk me back, I really do! I can solder! I make midi controllers from scratch!

Woo woo! Chicks with soldering irons are hot! ;)

Duly added to my friends list, with further stalking after work; you wouldn't, by any chance, be involved with the TBS-303 clone that's been making the URL rounds lately, would you?

single-sided copper-clad board? Used the drill bits for the holes or to remove the copper? Or did you photo-etch the board?

(curious, I'd really like to do prototype circuit work, but it's a major PITA).

single-sided copper board, photo-etched (since I didn't know about the modern toner-transfer stuff that everybody uses these days instead), hand-drilled with a push drill.

The cat-5 cable is for the signals from the main cpu board - q, clk, DC power, and AC power.

The drilling is really the biggest PITA. Makes me wish I had a drill press. The etching is the easy bit.

I get most of the random parts and raw PCBs from Halted in Sunnyvale; most of the IC components come from Digi-Key or Mouser.

The photo-etching from Halted as well? (been there many times, used to work about 3 blocks from there).

The photo-etching was because I didn't know any better - check out http://www.fullnet.com/u/tomg/gooteepc.htm for a far, far easier method. (Halted does have pre-sensitized PCBs if you insist on photoetching, though.)

Mmmm, cheese.

The rat scurried across my kitchen floor two days ago, running back into the garage when I startled it (and it me.)
