Things that suck: getting an IM from your boss about work, and having to tell him, "Uh, can you hold on for half an hour? I need to go freak out." I <heart> depression, guilt, &c.

well, it was in the middle of a conversation - and by freak out I mean "rock back and forth in a foetal position and shriek". When I get into those sorts of mental states, I'm awful at lying.

On the other hand, you've got a pretty cool boss who seems pretty understanding about these things and awesome coworkers like me. It does not make the things that suck suck any less, but it can make them easier to deal with.

I don't know if I've ever said, but I am really glad you joined the team. And I really enjoyed lunch today. I'll tell you, that lunch really made me feel better about a whole lot of things that have been bothering me lately. I left it with some hope for the future and stuff. I hope you picked up some of those good vibes as well.
