Oh wow! I had heard about this exhibit but didn't realize it was coming to the US. I may actually have to go to LA for this.

the band is planning a trip down there as a group. possibly will try and get an la gig while we're at it too. which reminds me - 3 shows this month - you should try and make one :)

I went, and thought it was crap for the most part. I don't have much time for modern art, so if was supposed to be art, I didn't think much of it. The other thing it could be was science, but it really wasn't that different from an anatomy textbook and the fact that it was all real corpses didn't really sink in, or if it did, made little impact.

I thought it a waste of £10 a 2 hours of queueing. I gather mine is not the popular view, though.

Professor Gunther von Hagens

For what it's worth Professor Gunther von Hagens is the guy who performed a controversial autopsy (human not alien ;)) on UK TV Channel 4 a couple of years ago. Channel 4 has a bit of a reputation for broadcasting similarly controversial programmes - e.g. a cookery progamme in which a couple ate paté made from the placenta of their newly born child and - a few weeks ago - a live broadcast of a human abortion. The Little House on The Prarie it ain't...

I think that's really gross, but hardly immoral. I think it could be quite educational and am surprised more schools are taking field trips to see it. I made it through dissection lab, so that's the last time I hope to see all that goop. I like it inside where it belongs. But hey, have fun!
